Global health expenditure is estimated to reach $1,700 in 2026 - a 1.7% year-on-year increase from the 2021 figure of $1,530 per capita in purchasing power parity (PPP). Since 2005, the demand for health expenditure has grown by an average of 3.3% year-on-year. The United States ranked top of the list with $11,380 PPP per capita in 2021. Switzerland, Norway and Germany followed in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively. The Central African Republic experienced the highest year-on-year growth at 14.8%, while Sierra Leone saw the biggest decrease at 11.4% year-on-year since 2005.
