Algeria is set to experience steady growth in fertilizer imports and production over the next five years. Imports of the commodity are expected to reach 125,460 metric tons in 2026, up 2.8% from 2021. This follows a 12.9% year-on-year increase since 2007. The Czech Republic led the ranking in 2021, with 106,520 metric tons, followed by Brazil, Spain, and Thailand. Production of fertilizer in Algeria is also set to grow, reaching 117,210 metric tons in 2026, a 1.1% yearly average increase since 2010. Venezuela led the ranking in 2021, with 109,540 metric tons, followed by India, Vietnam, and Indonesia. In 2019, Sri Lanka took the lead with 53 metric tons, with Norway, Belgium, and Finland ranking second, third, and fourth respectively.
