Ukraine's production of fertilizer dropped by 16.2% in 2021, to just over 43,000 metric tons, compared to 50,970 metric tons the previous year. Since 2010, the Ukrainian market has declined by 16.5% year on year. Pakistan overtook Ukraine to rank 23rd in fertilizer production, with India, Vietnam and Indonesia following in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Imports of fertilizer into Ukraine are set to reach 2.2 million metric tons by 2026, up 2.9% year on year on average, a jump compared to 1.8 million metric tons in 2021. This trend began in 2007, with a 4.9% year on year increase. Brazil, Spain and Thailand followed Ukraine in the ranking, in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. Exports of fertilizer from Ukraine fell by 15.2% in 2018, to 2,460 metric tons, compared to 2,900 metric tons the previous year. Since 2007, Ukrainian exports have decreased by 49.1% year on year. Mauritius overtook Ukraine to rank 64th in fertilizer production, with Norway, Belgium and Finland following in 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
