Algeria is set to become the fourth-largest importer of milk powder in the world by 2026, according to recent figures. Demand for the product has been steadily rising since 1997, growing an average of seven percent each year. Last year, the country imported around 187 million kilograms of milk powder, up from 168 million kilograms in 2021. The Philippines, Indonesia and Algeria are the top three milk powder importers in the world. Algeria is expected to overtake Indonesia in the ranking by 2026 with around 187 million kilograms of milk powder imports.
