British cattle production is forecast to reach 8.7 million head by 2026. This would be a slight decrease from the 8.9 million head in 2021, a drop of 0.2% on average each year since 1966. In 2021, the UK was ranked 26th in the world in terms of cattle production, overtaken by New Zealand which had 8.9 million head. India, the US and China held the top three spots, respectively.
