Fijian meat consumption is expected to rise slightly by 2026. Last year, the country ranked 139th in meat consumption, with 36 thousand metric tons consumed. Guyana placed ahead of Fiji at 36 thousand metric tons. The US, Brazil, and Russia were the top three countries for meat consumption, respectively. Fijian meat production is also on the rise, with an estimated 45,630 metric tons produced in 2021. This number is projected to reach 52,170 metric tons by 2026, a 2.3% annual growth rate. This marks an increase of 15.8% since 1966.
