Consumption of edible oils in Laos is expected to remain unchanged in the coming years, standing at 25,000 metric tons in 2026. In 2021, the country ranked 122nd in the world, with Guinea-Bissau overtaking at 25,000 metric tons. China, the United States and Brazil were the top three countries in terms of consumption, respectively. Meanwhile, production of edible oils in Laos is projected to decrease by 0.1% year-on-year to 13,900 metric tons by 2026. Since 2017, Lao supply has remained static. In 2021, El Salvador overtook Laos in the 119th position with 14,000 metric tons. China, Malaysia and the United States were the top three countries in terms of production, respectively.
