Japanese frozen fish exports are expected to reach around $603 million by 2026, up 1.1% year-on-year. This would be a 5.5% increase since 1993. In 2021, Japan was the tenth largest exporter, with South Korea topping the list with $563 million. The US, Russia and Chile followed in that order. On the other hand, imports of Japanese frozen fish are forecast to hit approximately $2.9 billion by 2026, a 0.8% drop year-on-year. This would be a 0.5% increase since 1993. Last year, Japan was the second biggest importer, behind China with $3.1 billion. Thailand, Japan and South Korea were the next three largest importers.
