Car registrations in Iran are projected to decline 3.8% year-on-year to around 540,910 units by 2026. The country has seen a steady decline in demand since 2010, with a decrease of 11.7% year-on-year. Meanwhile, car production in Iran is expected to decrease by an average of 1.2% year-on-year to 745,120 units by 2026. This follows a 7.8% year-on-year decline since 2004. In 2021, Iran ranked 15th in production, with 791,370 units, while the United Kingdom took the lead with the same number of units. Japan, Germany and South Korea were placed in second, third and fourth positions, respectively.
