In 2021, the country ranked 17th in the world, with Australia taking the lead at 121.6 million kilograms. The United Kingdom, France, and Italy followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively. Meanwhile, Malaysian pet food exports decreased significantly in 2021, dropping from 739,000 to 445,000 kilograms compared to 2020. Since 1994, its supply has decreased by 33%. Last year, the country was ranked 64th in the world, with Luxembourg coming first at 445,000 kilograms. France, the United States, and the Netherlands were second, third, and fourth.
