The freight volume in Spain is set to rise in the coming years. It is projected to reach 281,860 million tonne-kilometres by 2026, growing at a rate of one per cent a year. Since 1975, the supply of freight has increased by two per cent year-on-year. In 2019, Spanish freight revenue hit €26.8 billion, up from €25.3 billion in 2018. The country was the fifth-biggest revenue earner in this ranking. The United Kingdom overtook Spain with €26.8 billion, while France, Germany and Poland followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively.
