This equates to a yearly growth rate of 1.5 percent. Since 1994, Romania has seen a steady yearly increase of 4 percent in metal imports. In 2021, it was the 26th largest importer of metal in the world. Mexico topped the list with 13.69 million metric tons, followed by Japan, South Korea, and Germany.
