In 2021, Bangladesh was the world’s thirteenth-biggest consumer of bioenergy, with consumption reaching 304.0 million metric tons. Mexico had overtaken Bangladesh the year before. India, Brazil and the United States were the world’s top three consumers in 2021, respectively.
