This is due to the dependence that modern automobiles have on electronics and information technology.
The final report is Frost & Sullivan’s Move Aside Apple and Google! Alibaba is Entering the Connected Car Space. This 5 page report was published in March 2015. Due to changing times, Alibaba and original equipment manufacturers are beginning to work together. This is to help the manufacturers build a stringer digital presence. GM, Volkswagon and Tesla have now joined a group of manufacturers that are selling through Alibaba’s business-to-customer platform, Tmail. Alibaba have also partnered with SAIC Motors to develop an internet car.
