The steel industry consists of the production of crude steel in the stated country or region. Crude Steel Production refers to production of first solid steel product upon solidification of liquid steel. It includes Ingots (in conventional mills) and Semis (in mordern mills with continuous casting facility).. Crude Steel also includes liquid steel which goes into production of steel castings. Industry values have been calculated using appropriate regional annual average steel prices. Industrieshares reflect sales earned in this industry during the last year for which financial data was available for all industry players listed. Any currency conversions used in this market research report have been calculated using constant exchange rates. For the purpose of this market research report the Americas comprises Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, the US, and Venezuela.
