Bishop and Associates Inc. announces the release of a new nine chapter, 150 page research report providing both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the global commercial aviation market for connectors. Industry connector sales for the years 2011 through 2017F are provided for each aviation market segment. Market segments have been sub-divided by product type and global region.

Civil aviation is one of two major categories of flying, representing all non-military aviation, both private and commercial. Worldwide, most countries are members of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and work together to establish common standards and recommended practices for civil aviation through this agency.

Civil aviation includes two major categories:

1. Scheduled air transport, including all passenger and cargo flights operating on regularly scheduled routes.
2. General aviation (GA), including all other civil flights, private or commercial.

This report breaks aviation down even further, separating out civil single-row, civil twin-row, piston, turboprop, business jets, helicopters and the aftermarket.
Although scheduled air transport is the larger operation in terms of passenger numbers, General Aviation is larger in the number of flights and flight hours, particularly in the US. In the US, General Aviation carries 166 million passengers each year, more than any single individual airline, although less than all of the airlines combined.

Today, the domestic US market is the largest single aviation market in the world, with over 115 airlines, 6,700 aircraft in service and more than 730 million passengers flown to, from, and within the US in 2011.

During 2011, we saw the replacement of older aircraft beginning. 2011 was also marked by post-merger integration as airlines worked on integrating new acquisitions.

The FAA and other world aviation organizations see a competitive and profitable industry continuing to grow over the long term despite the fact that we are operating in a climate of economic uncertainty and rising oil prices. This growth will fuel the need for existing connector products as well as new connector products.

In 2012, the world commercial aviation market for connectors represented $XXX.X million. It is anticipated that this market will grow to more than $XXX.X over the next 5-years, a CAGR of over Y.Y%. The greatest grow will occur in the helicopter segment, followed by civil single-aisle aircraft.

Although all connector types will experience growth during this period, rectangular I/O and circular connectors will continue to offer the connector manufacturer the greatest number of new opportunities.
