Switzerland has a developed market for converged media. Many areas of the country have switched from analogue to digital TV transmission, paving the way for digital dividend spectrum to be used for other services including mobile TV and mobile broadband. Swisscom has ramped up its fibre rollout plans, aiming to provide fibre to 1.1 million homes, or a third of the population, by the end of 2015.

Complementary cable networks are dominated by UPC Cablecom, which has upgraded most of its infrastructure to provide 250Mb/s services. Together, these networks enable a growing number of consumers to access bundled services. With its continuing migration from copper infrastructure to fibre, Swisscom planned to switch all fixed-voice traffic to VoIP by 2018. This report presents an analysis of Switzerland's digital and terrestrial TV markets, as well as an overview of developments in digital media services.

Key developments:
Sunrise launches Sunrise TV service, updates IPTV functionality; UPC Cablecom expands network reach by acquisitions of several municipal cablecos; regulator's 2014 market report; telcos' operating and financial data to Q4 2014; recent market developments.
