Making a splash: A growing number of international tourists will support industry revenue

Water Parks

The Water Parks industry has exhibited solid growth during the past five years, despite a slight hiccup due to the recession. Since 2010, however, the industry has undergone a spectacular recovery as travel levels, consumer spending and consumer sentiment all improve. Over the next five years, the industry is expected to continue its recent thrilling ride. All signs point toward a sustained period of growth for the industry, as travel rates continue to grow and consumer spending picks up. While Europe continues to struggle with a prolonged economic downturn, tourists from developing countries, especially those from Asia, the Middle East and South America, are expected to grow at faster rates than domestic tourism, thereby benefiting the industry.

This industry includes amusement parks that feature waterplay areas, such as waterslides, splash pads, spraygrounds (water playgrounds), lazy rivers or other recreational bathing, swimming and barefooting environments. These parks may be indoors, outdoors or a combination of both.

This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
