The rail freight segment is defined as consisting of sales generated from freight transportation by rail. Units of volumes are measured in freight tonne kilometres (FTK). Rail freight volumes include both domestic and international freight, which for the purposes of this market research report are counted in the country of origin. Any currency conversions used in the creation of this market research report have been calculated using constant 2008 annual average exchange rates. Europe comprises Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
