After growing 0.7% on the quarter in Q3, down from 0.9% in Q2, monthly indicators, such as industrial production and exports, point to robust GDP growth in Q4 - we now estimate a 0.7% increase. This would suggest GDP growth of 3.4% in 2016 as a whole, down from 3.8% in 2015.

Looking forward, we forecast quarterly GDP growth of 0.6-0.7% through 2017, resulting in annual average growth slowing to 2.7% this year. This moderation will stem from a deceleration in Eurozone momentum, where growth is forecast to ease from 1.7% in 2016 to 1.5% in 2017. However, we believe that there are some upside risks to our current forecast as the Slovak economy could respond more strongly to the improving external environment than we currently expect.
