Home Energy Management Systems: HEMS market is relatively small and is estimated to be worth €7.8 million in 2012. The HEMS market in the UK is expected to become more noticeable due to the efforts of British Gas advancing energy management solutions and planned smart meter roll-out that is predicted to start in 2015. By 2015 the value of the HEMS market is estimated to more than double and provide identifiable benefits for the customers to justify further market penetration and market acceptance. A new development can be the introduction of a monthly service charge, however it is not expected to become a reality in the next 2-3 years, as it might deter the customers away from HEMS products.
Intelligent Environmental Controls: Intelligent environmental controls market is primarily confined to medium to high end households that require a greater degree of temperature control and provision of multi-zone control.
