BMI View: Japan has a robust tourism industry, attracting visitors from a wide range of global sourcemarkets. Over the course of the five year forecast period through to 2020, we expect to see continuedgrowth in international arrivals, particularly from major regional markets such as China, South Korea andTaiwan, though we may see a short-term dip in 2016 following huge growth in 2015. The government ishighly supportive of the tourism industry, investing in extensive marketing campaigns and connectedinfrastructure developments such as the upgrading of the high speed rail network and development ofluxury cruise tourism.
