Executive Summary - Key Findings

-The market for FCVs is limited to concept vehicles that have been leased to fleet operators so that the use case is understandable. However, commercialization of FCVs is expected in 2015. To date, Daimler and General Motors have a fleet size of 200 and 100 vehicles respectively.
-The establishment of hydrogen fuelling infrastructure will play a crucial role in successful commercialization of FCVs to support the consumer demand and future developments. Currently, there are approximately 250 filling stations globally, with North America and Europe accounting for 75%.
-Asia-Pacific (APAC) is expected to account for 38% of the market for FCVs and is expected to emerge as the global leader with major automakers such as Honda, Nissan, Toyota, and Suzuki are preparing for commercialization of FCVs.
-Government will play a key role in commercialization of FCV. With the government support, California is likely to be the most attractive market in the US and Germany in Europe.
