-For manufacturers, a major portion of intelligent MCC distribution is through direct sales to end users. Most MCC panel builders build normal MCCs and compete on product price.
-Withdrawable MCCs are highly preferred by customers in industries such as oil and gas and mining, which run critical applications. This is because such MCCs can be repaired or maintained with zero equipment down time.
-The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), with regional variations, are the major standards adopted by MCC manufacturers globally. -Low-voltage MCCs contribute to more than half the market revenue. Low-voltage operation is preferred to medium/high voltage because of advantages such as safety and ease of handling.
-Motor Control Centre (MCC) This is an assembly of motor starters or overload protection devices such as contactors and/or overload relays connected by a common power bus bar to control several motors. The major components of an MCC are the contactor, overload relay, bus bar and panel enclosure.
-Intelligent Motor Control Centre (iMCC) These are MCCs that have communication capabilities and can be connected to devices such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and a human-machine interface (HMI). This includes MCCs that can communicate with other devices and MCCs integrated with variable frequency drives (VFDs) or PLCs (inside the MCC cabinet).
-Product Segments Low-Voltage MCC: These are used with motors of voltage rating below kV Medium-Voltage MCC: These are used with motors of voltage rating from – kV Revenue generated from the sale of MCCs by third-party panel builders, which source the components from original manufacturers and build the MCC panels, is accounted under manufacturers’ MCC revenue. Panel builders are included under ‘others’ in competitive analysis. Revenue generated from sales of software and services related to MCCs or iMCCs are not included.
