About Aircraft Aftermarket Parts
Aircraft aftermarket parts are mainly used in the maintenance and upgrade of an aircraft after it is manufactured (out of the factory). Since aircraft remain in service for many years and has to comply with strict regulations, it has to be maintained and repaired at regular intervals. This requires a reliable supply chain of aftermarket parts to prevent aircraft on ground (AOG) situations. Aftermarket parts are mainly utilized for maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) activities and also as rotable scrap replacement. Aftermarket parts are manufactured by original equipment manufacturers (OEM) as well as parts manufacturer approval (PMA) vendors.

Technavio's analysts forecast the global commercial aircraft aftermarket parts market to grow at a CAGR of 5.81% over the period 2014-2019.
