SNP genotyping is a study of genetic differences in single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in cells and humans. It is the most widely used technique to discern variations
in the DNA sequence. DNA bases (A, T, C and G) comprise the 3-billion letter string of the human genome. The sequence of this string is almost always same for everyone.
Research has found that sometimes a single letter in the sequence may vary from one human to the other. SNP genotyping is the name given to the study of these DNA
variations between humans, and this practice has gained importance in medical diagnostics and research. SNPs are the fundamental markers in several human ailments and are therefore keenly studied in pharmacogenomics to better customize personalized medicine.

Researchers are confronted with the task of sorting out SNPs that correlate with specific influences on patients. Reliable findings will mean that such SNPs will function
as predictive markers for several dimensions of medical treatment, such as efficacy of and responsiveness to drugs. Such a pharmacogenetic methodology economizes on
