Future Technologies Shaping the City Truck Market

While driver and passenger airbags, ABS, and ESC have become standard features, new features such as EBD, LDW, TPMS, hill-climb assist, and collision mitigation are expected to become mainstream by 2020.

To make city trucks more affordable, driver-friendly features will be adopted at a slow rate. Semi-AT, power steering, and tilt-steering columns are some of the features that can become standard.
Emerging regions are expected to experience the first phase of telematics adoption during the study period. Navigation, traffic-based route selection, and fleet tracking will be widely adopted features in emerging regions.
