Dynegy to Acquire EquiPower Resources and Brayton Point from Energy Capital Partners for $3.4 Billion - Deal Analysis from GlobalData
Dynegy has agreed to acquire the power generation companies EquiPower Resources and Brayton Point from Energy Capital Partners (ECP) for $3,450m. It has also agreed to acquire Midwest Commercial Generation Business, from Duke Energy, for $2,800m. The completion of this deal will enhance the asset portfolio of Dynegy and increase its power generation capacity to nearly 26,000 Megawatts (MW). The financial outlook of the company will be improved and allow it to diversify into new markets and expand its retail business.
