BMI View: Namibia is set to see steady growth throughout its tourism sector Inbound arrivals willsignificantly increase, as economic conditions continue to improve in key source markets With the vastmajority of arrivals coming from other African nations however, the sector is heavily reliant on thecontinued economic security of its neighbours, especially countries such as South Africa and AngolaNamibia's main draw for tourists is the abundance of national parks and game reserves and the wildlifewatching opportunities they provide In order to maximise this potential it is clear that much funding andeffort must be put into improving and expanding the travel infrastructure within the country This could bean area of the tourism sector that provides good investment opportunities in the coming years Althoughthere is some presence from the major international hotel groups, these are almost exclusively found inWindhoek, the capital city The development of more hotels and accommodation throughout the country isalso an area of strong growth

- Arrivals will significantly increase to hit 147mn by 2019, a growth of 141% from 2016 This forecasthas been increased since last quarter, due largely to the faster than expected economic growth of manyAfrican source markets
- The greater increase in arrivals will in turn push up the international tourist receipts, forecast to reachUSD099bn by 2019
