Bio-plastics present solutions to waste management thanks to their biodegradable characteristics (compostable). They also present economic advantages (fewer steps in the industrial recycling processes), and help to limit the use of fossil fuels. Experts are now talking about the second generation of bio-plastics and are working on creating bio-plastics from non-food resources.
