Belgium's mobile market is served by three main operators and a growing number of MVNOs. All three MNOs have upgraded their networks with HSPA technology, while LTE services by mid-2015 provided over 90% population coverage. Mobile TV offerings are available but have yet to make an impression on consumers. The market faces considerable changes following the April 2015 deal by which Liberty Global's local unit Telenet acquired BASE from KPN for 1.33 billion. If approved by regulators, the deal would confirm the dominance of Proximus and Telenet/BASE in the market for bundled services. This report profiles Belgian's mobile market, providing the latest statistics on the main players, as well as the most recent developments on HSPA and LTE rollouts, emerging data markets and data services such as SMS, i-mode and mobile TV.

Key developments:
Mobistar refinances in June 2015 with an additional 420 million; Telenet acquires BASE for 1.325 billion; Mobistar adds mobile telephony to bundled offers; regulator concludes 2.6GHz auction; Mobistar replaces 2G equipment with LTE-ready hardware; regulator achieves 360 million at auction for 800MHz spectrum; BASE receives 900MHz licence extension; Telenet extends MVNO agreement with Mobistar to 2017; mobile service revenue continues to fall; Proximus trials LTE in the 1.8GHz band; BASE contracts Ericsson for backhaul upgrade, launches DC-HSPA+ service; non-SMS mobile revenue growth outstripping SMS revenue; regulator's market data update; telcos' financial and operating data to Q1 2015; recent market developments.
