Beer is an alcoholic drink brewed from malted barley, yeast, hops, and water using fermentation. Other natural ingredients are also added to enhance flavor. Beer is the largest alcohol segment in the US, accounting for 85.5% of all alcohol sold in the US. The market can be divided into two segments: non-craft beer and craft beer. The non-craft beer segment dominated the market in 2014.
Beer is ranked the third most popular beverage after water and tea. Beer was first manufactured in the US in New York in 1633.
