By 2020, ~ million vehicles would have been fitted with original equipment (OE) telematics, up from ~ million units in 2014. Three types of packages are offered in the Chinese Connected Services market: free trial, renewal subscriptions, and unlimited utilization.

The market drivers include: positive economic growth, infrastructure development and urbanization, smartphone subscriber expansion, and real-time traffic data.

Until 2020, the C-compact vehicle segment is expected to dominate the OE fit telematics market, followed by the SUV vehicle segment.

SAIC Roewe is the leading native brand. Native OEMs compete in the low-cost, economy segment, whereas international OEMs compete in the premium segment and offer more years of free trial services (Lexus G-Book and Nissan Infiniti Connection, for instance, offer years of free trial)

The Beidou Navigation Satellite System is expected to lead and guide independent innovation in China’s automotive connected services market. It is projected to achieve approximately % global navigation satellite market share by 2020.
