In 2015 Turkey has over 44 million broadband subscribers with the majority of these connected via mobile broadband services. Fixed broadband however is also available through xDSL, cable and fibre networks. Both Turk Telekom and Turkcell's Superonline have focused considerable attention on deploying fibre networks and at the end of 2014 they had nearly 1.5 million fibre subscribers combined. ADSL is still the most popular fixed broadband platform however, despite stronger growth rates recorded for fibre and cable.

Turk Telekom is the dominant ISP and has maintained this position against an influx of competitors. Turkey's sizeable Internet user population has fostered an emerging digital economy, encompassing e-commerce, e-government, e-health and e-education services. Digital media services such as online newspapers, video streaming, social media and e-commerce are also popular amongst online users.
