Myanmar's underpenetrated mobile market continues to experience the strongest growth in Asia-Pacific, with mobile subscriptions growing 137.1% year-on-year to 18.1 million at end-1Q15. Mobile penetration jumped to 33.5% in the first quarter, up from 14.2% a year earlier. Each of the three players - Telenor, MPT, and Ooredoo - is trying hard to grab maximum market share, and they continue to slash prices in their quest for more customers.
