- Egypt is the largest non-OPEC oil producer in Africa and the second-largest dry natural gas producer in the world.

- Egypt is located in northern Africa and shares its borders with Gaza Strip, Israel, Libya, Libya and Sudan.

- The highest elevation in Egypt is in the southern part of the country.
- The highest point in the country is Mount Catherine at feet, while its lowest point is the Qattara Depression at - feet.
- Egypt is administratively divided into governorates, regions, districts, and villages.
- There are governorates and they are the top tier of the country's five-tier jurisdiction hierarchy. A governorate is
administered by a governor, who is appointed by the President of Egypt and serves at the president's discretion.
