The Brazilian beverages sector is expected to remain stagnant at R$ 116 billion in net revenue in 2016, growing at a high CAGR of 7.8% since 2004. Alcoholic beverages have gained share until 2012 but seem to have dropped again after 2013, reaching 24% in 2015 but per capita consumption of mineral water and soft drinks increased 59% and 32% respectively between 2005 and 2015. Beer consumption has decreased from 14.1 billion litres to 13.8 billion litres in 2015 with international giant Ambev (owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev) dominating the segment.
