The Brazilian cement industry currently produces over 70 million tons every year. The sector is highly concentrated with top 7 players holding almost 86% of cement production in the country. Per capita consumption of cement was increasing steadily until 2012 when it stagnated around 350 kg/inhabitant and after 2008, cement exports have dropped to almost irrelevant levels. The cement trade balance in Brazil became negative in 2009 and the deficit currently amounts to over US$ 190 million FOB. On the other hand, aggregates production continued to increase to 583 million tons in 2015. Many international groups have joined the top players in recent years and most of them are vertically integrated.

This report briefly discusses the subject market, its geographic footprint, main products and services, main players’ financial and operational performance and other analyses.
