Polymer foams are usually formulated by combining the two segments in a speed. The resultant foam has polymer matrix either in air bubbles or air tunnels form, which is usually known as closed-cell or open-cell structure. Closed-cell polymer foam is more rigid in nature as compared to open-cell polymer. Polymer foam can be categorised as thermoplastics and thermosets. Thermoplastics are flexible in nature and can usually be broken down or can be recycled but thermosets are rigid in nature and it is difficult to recycle them as they are cross linked. Polymer foams are created through different ways such as slab-stock pouring, extrusion or different forms of molding.
