BMI View: We have a positive outlook for both Jordan's life and non-life insurance segments. While therelatively smaller life insurance segment is set to outpace non-life insurance, its low penetration and densityrates render it considerably underdeveloped, which on the whole translates to fewer investmentopportunities for insurance providers. Due to the fragmented nature of the market, incumbents and new(foreign) entrants will likely attain market share by acquiring smaller rivals.

The substantially larger andmore developed non-life segment will see similar growth rates; however, players will continue to bechallenged by the ongoing security situation within the region which is impacting upon Jordan's economicgrowth and consequently on demand for non-life solutions.

Key Updates And Forecasts:

- Accounting for just 9.8% of total premiums written in 2016, we expect life insurance to underperform incomparison with non-life insurance. With penetration and density rates of 0.2% and 0.1% respectively,Jordan's life segment is considerably underdeveloped. We do anticipate, however, that life insurance willoutpace its non-life counterpart in terms of growth potential over the coming years - growing by 6.1%annually to USD104mn (10.2% market share) in 2020.
