Industry Definition
This industry comprises establishments primarily engaged only in the renting or leasing of office machinery and equipment (but not in its manufacturing, wholesaling, or outright sale or retailing of this equipment to customers/clients), such as computers, printers, office furniture, duplicating machines (i.e. copiers), facsimile machines and particularly multi-function equipment to businesses and governments. The equipment can be either black and white or color. The terms of the rent or lease may allow for an upgrade of the equipment during the lease period or the purchase of the equipment at an agreed residual (usually low) value, servicing of the equipment during the lease period can also be included, as can the supply of consumables - printer and toner cartridges etc.
