World Plastic Pipe
This comprehensive study examines the world plastic pipe industry by geographic market and by resin. Historic data are provided for 1995, 2000 and 2005 with forecasts for the years 2010 and 2015. “Demand” is defined as being equal to production plus imports minus exports. This is synonymous with terms such as “sales” and “apparent consumption.” Data are presented in millions of meters and thousands of metric tons. Although distinctions are sometimes made between pipes and tubes, for the purposes of this study the terms “pipe,” “tubes” and “tubular products” are used interchangeably. Within the discussion of the larger total pipe market, certain pipe products, such as structural components, mechanical tubing and refrigeration tubing, are not included as they are not competitive with plastic pipe products. In addition to providing a market outlook, the study also identifies and profiles the major industry participants and discusses the key strategic competitive variables.
