Globally, XX% of barite production is used as a weighting agent for drilling fluids in oil and gas exploration. The remainder is used in value added applications such as car, TV screen, electronics, glass ceramics, paints, rubber, and radiation shielding and medical applications. In 2010, the recovery of global economy supported growth in the oil and gas industry, both domestically and globally.
