BMI View: Tunisia's food and drink industry will experience robust growth in sales throughout our forecastperiod to 2020, although a significant portion of growth will be driven by inflationary pressures. Weakconsumer confidence and concerns over the country's stability will continue to hamper foreign investment.

- Our consumer outlook for Tunisia has deteriorated in recent quarters, on the back of lower consumerconfidence and concerns over the country's political stability.

- Nonetheless, we still expect food and drink sales to grow at a robust pace over the next five years,although we caution that a significant part of this growth is due to inflationary pressures. Rising incomesand the ongoing formalisation of the food retail sector will drive sales growth.

- Despite Tunisia's majority Muslim population, consumption of alcoholic drinks is relatively developed,with beer the most consumed category by some distance. Nonetheless, hikes in excise taxes on wine andbeer will hamper the development of the sector.
