This research service covers the North American control valves market. The research is segmented by valve type and shows opportunities in end-user industries. Market dynamics such as drivers, restraints, and industry challenges have been discussed. Competitive analyses and market share analyses have been included. Rotating shaft and sliding stem segments have been studied. This study also covers market revenue and end-user revenue forecasts for the period from 2011 to 2017.
Key Drivers and Restraints
•Development of oil and gas resources boosts the demand for control valves.
•Movement of production facilities to emerging regions reduces new investments in North America.
Executive Summary
Forecasts
•The control valves market in North America generated revenue of $x.xx billion in 2010.
•The market is expected to witness a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of x.x percent between 2010 and 2017.
End-user Industry Analysis
•Economic growth and the need for energy are expected to drive the markets for oil and gas and power generation.
•Investments in infrastructure and the need to replace aging infrastructure are expected to drive the markets for water and wastewater and chemicals.
•Rapid urbanization and population growth will drive the food and beverage and pharmaceuticals markets.
Product Definition
Control valves regulate flow conditions, including pressure and temperature, by completely or partially opening or closing upon receiving a signal from a sensor that monitors changes in variables against pre-set conditions. For the purpose of revenue calculation, the first point of sale, i.e., revenue generated by the manufacturer, is included. After-sales services are not considered for revenue calculation. Types of control valves covered in this study are represented below:
Ball: The ball valve consists of a cylindrical disk that requires only a 90-degree turn of the valve stem to perform open-and-close operations.
Butterfly: The butterfly valve consists of a pivoting disk for regulating the flow of liquid.
Eccentric Disk: The eccentric disk valve consists of a disk that is mounted eccentric to the valve stem to avoid high-pressure drops.
Rotating Shaft
Market Overview—Definitions
Globe: The globe valve has a spherical body with a horizontal disk to regulate liquid flow.
Diaphragm: The diaphragm valve consists of a diaphragm that seals over a saddle to control liquid flow.
Plug: The plug valve consists of a tapering plug as the closing mechanism to control liquid flow.
