Acetophenone Situation in China

Acetophenone is one of intermediates of pharmaceuticals and flavors. It was once a hot items in China in the late 1990s. There were once over 20 producers engaged in this business in China.

But since 2000s, the production volume in China has been shrinking because of small demand and poor competitiveness of Chinese production technology. The number of Chinese manufacturers has been decreasing greatly in the past two years, and there are only 9 active producers of acetophenone as of July 2003.

The production and the export of Chinese acetophenone have been decreasing in the past few years.
