International Airlines Group (IAG) is a joint venture between British Airways and the Spanish airline Iberia, which was established in January 2011. IAG acquired in 2012 the UK-based bmi airline along with its operations bmi baby and bmi regional with the latter successfully sold by IAG later in May 2012 to Sector Aviation Holdings Ltd. In 2012, IAG has also launched Iberia’s budget arm, which flies to 17 destinations in Europe and aims to rival players such as Ryanair and easyJet.
