Parquet and Laminate Floors in Central and Eastern Europe 2009
The total parquet and laminate market in CEE top 5 countries still showed an increase compared to last year despite the general economic crisis. Parquet and laminate are both construction driven where investments have moved from troublesome western European countries to more promising Easter European markets. Looking more in depth into the construction segments, as in western Europe, renovation is moving up, but, on the contrary, when it comes to the customer segment the residential is gaining terrain.
In 2008, Poland went over to represent the largest part of the hard floor market, and had the second highest annual increase, just behind Slovenia, which situates the market as the most promising and dynamic country in the region. Per type of floor, Poland remains biggest market for parquet as well as for laminate but the on second the leaders are different.
