Global pesticide consumption is predicted to rise to 4.4 million metric tons by 2026, a 0.5% growth rate from 2021. This market has grown at a rate of 0.4% annually since 1995. In 2021, China was the top consumer with 1.8 million metric tons followed by the United States, Brazil and Argentina in that order. Tonga saw the highest percentage increase of 21.7%, while Mali experienced a 100% decrease since 1995. Global pesticide imports are expected to reach 2.8 million metric tons by 2026, with an average annual growth rate of 1.4% since 2016. India was the largest importer with 709,050 metric tons in 2021. Thailand, Germany and Taiwan followed in that order. The United Kingdom saw the highest percentage increase at 203.4%, while Finland had the most significant drop of 78.9% since 2016.
