Global wine consumption is set to reach 22.6 million metric tons by 2026, down 0.2% each year on average since 2017. In 2021, China was the top consumer, at 2.7 million metric tons. France, the United States and Italy ranked second, third and fourth. Zambia increased 10.1% year on year, while Mozambique dropped 26.3% since 2017. Global wine production is expected to reach 28.5 million metric tons in 2026, up 0.2% each year on average since 1966. Italy led the way in 2021 with 5.3 million metric tons. France, Spain and the United States followed. Brazil saw a 24.8% increase year on year, while Serbia decreased 39.3% since 1966. European wine revenue is forecast to rise to €44.1 billion by 2026, 1.1% each year on average since 2016. France was the top earner in 2021, with €16.1 billion. Italy, Spain and Germany followed. France grew 8.9% year on year, while Denmark fell 13.5% since 2016.
